Project Hope
Project HOPE has been working in the Dominican Republic since 1996,
when we first began collaborating with the local organization,
the Dominican Association of the Order of Malta (ADOM), to improve
the health of women and children. Project HOPE – with the support
of ADOM - opened a women’s and children’s health clinic in the Herrera
neighborhood of Santo Domingo in 2002 and in the more rural Monte
Plata in 2003. While both clinics are now self-reliant, Project
HOPE continues to provide technical oversight in order to optimize
efficiency. The clinics have provided over two million medical services
to more than 100,000 women and children to date.
